A dog lollipop from Whiskers Barkery in Prescott. He loved it, and it only lasted 2 minutes.
This was an amazing and awe-inspiring stretch of trail. We started from the top of Junction Creek Road, which was about an hour’s drive in the Jeep. From there, it’s almost 20 miles, almost 6000′ descent, but with 2000′ of climbing tossed into the middle of the ride.
Java was a fantastic trail dog the whole time, for a little under 4 hours. He only slowed when the sun got really hot as we got to the bottom.
Java did a bike run on 401 this morning. We got into Crested Butte last night from Durango. He bike ran Hermosa Creek trail and the Pinkerton Flagstaff to Dutch Creek to finish on Hermosa. He’s well over 50 miles this week and getting tired.
